What is AGI script?

The Asterisk Gateway Interface, or AGI, provides a standard interface by which external programs may control the Asterisk dialplan. Usually, AGI scripts are used to do advanced logic, communicate with relational databases (such as PostgreSQL or MySQL), and access other external resources.

PAGI (not to be confused with phpagi) is a PHP 5.3 client for AGI: Asterisk Gateway Interface. AGI is a very simple protocol, and it has been implemented in a wide variety of languages, allowing to quickly create telephony applications, like IVR’s, voicemails, prepaid telephony systems, etc.

How to calculate your AGI

1. Start with your gross income. Income is on lines 7-22 of Form 1040.
2. Add these together to arrive at your total income.
3. Subtract your adjustments from your total income (also called “above-the-line deductions”)
4. You have your AGI.

Asterisk Gateway Interface (AGI) is a software interface and communications protocol for application level control of selected features of the Asterisk PBX. It uses a TCP socket for communication to the external host which provides the function of an AGI service, in a manner of the client–server model.

The Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI) protocol is a very simple protocol that allows you to communicate and manage your asterisk server, almost completely. It has support to edit/create asterisk configuration files and also manage the calls, clients, agents, dialplan, etc.

The dialplan is essentially a scripting language specific to Asterisk and one of the primary ways of instructing Asterisk on how to behave. It ties everything together, allowing you to route and manipulate calls in a programmatic way.

PHPAGI is a PHP class for the Asterisk Gateway Interface. The package is available for use and distribution under the terms of the GNU Public License. PHPAGI was originally written by Matthew Asham and has been fixed, tweaked and molded by a team of developers.

Adjusted Gross Income, or AGI, starts with your gross income, and is then reduced by certain “above the line” deductions. Some common examples of deductions that reduce adjusted gross income include 401(k) contributions, health savings account contributions and educator expenses.

AGI is calculated by taking all of your income for the year (your gross income) and subtracting certain “adjustments to income.” Your AGI can affect the size of your tax deductions as well as your eligibility for some types of retirement plan contributions.

Log in, Log out from Asterisk AMI with Telnet

1. Use commands rasterisk or asterisk -r to log in into the Asterisk console.
2. On the asterisk console use the command show manager connected or manager show connected for Asterisk versions 1.4 or 1.8 respectively to list all the connections.

The Asterisk Manager Interface (AMI) allows a client program to connect to an Asterisk instance and issue commands or read events over a TCP/IP stream. A simple “key: value” line-based protocol is utilized for communication between the connecting client and the Asterisk PBX.

conf, go to the Asterisk command-line interface and tell Asterisk to reload the dialplan by typing the command dialplan reload. You can verify that Asterisk successfully read the configuration file by typing dialplan show from-internal at the CLI.
