During some project there was a requirement to load a gif image through ajax. So i just simply tried But rather then getting a image what i get was error !! It was parsererror. It mean browser is making request asynchronously and getting the data but its not able to understand the returned data.

Regardless of how often the code below is called, the same issue persists. In the jQuery documentation, the “load” function would be perfect if it had a default method of firing the event as opposed to binding a callback function to a successful/complete load of an element. Images outside of the visible area will only be loaded when the user scrolls to them in any direction. This will not only increase the page loading speed, it will even decrease your traffic.

However I’d be very surprised if loading the images over AJAX and using the Base64 content is any quicker than using a normal approach. The point of AJAX is to fetch some data after the DOM is loaded. All moderns browsers will already fetch images asynchronously.
