As to your question, 64 is enough is you never want to do anything else with it. PDFs are not big and years of notes will not add up to much. 256 will allow personal use and media storage later. I got 256 for this reason, but have found that after staring at the stupid thing all day I don’t want to use it when I go home.

Since you’ve got a MacBook Pro, you can probably get away with a 64GB, but you’ll probably need to pay for iCloud Storage. I’d personally recommend the 256GB model with the Pencil. I think for your use case, you’re more likely than you think to hit that 64GB limit. Depends on your major.
