You don’t need to look anywhere when the inbuilt Windows 10 Media Player supports FLAC files. Groove Music comes pre-installed with Windows 10 and can play FLAC files. The support was recently added, and now the player supports many lossless formats including FLAC.

Both VLC Windows App and VLC Store App support FLAC formats and work flawlessly with them. Apart from that VLC offers a variety of customizations and has a good open source community.

It’s worth mentioning there are plenty of free programs that will play Flac files like VLC and Foobar2000. Windows 10 now supports MKV video files as well. This is good news for those for those of users who have ripped their Blu-ray and DVD collection to MKV format.

FLAC is natively supported on IOS 11, including all “iDevices”, but only via the Files (Apple) app or iCloud Drive. iTunes does not support FLAC, with Apple only offering native support for their own similar ALAC lossless audio format.
