An external database is composed of an external collection of chained terms; these chains give you direct access to data that is not a part of your Prolog program. The external database can be stored in any one of three locations: in a file, in memory, or in EMS-type expanded memory under DOS.

Create a blank database

1. On the File tab, click New, and then click Blank Database.
2. Type a file name in the File Name box.
3. Click Create.
4. Begin typing to add data, or you can paste data from another source, as described in the section Copy data from another source into an Access table.

Start the SQL Server, in the dialog window for the Server name enters the name of the instance that you want to connect with. From the Authentication drop down box, select the SQL Server Authentication and for the field Login and the Password enter your credentials then click the Connect button.

External data is data that is stored outside the current database. External data may be data that you store in another Microsoft Access database, or it might be data that you store in a multitude of other file formats-including ISAM (Indexed Sequential Access Method), spreadsheet, ASCII, and more.

The only way to switch between databases right now is to misuse our loadbalancer. The application always uses the same ip to access the database server. The loadbalancer decides how this IP is resolved: After updates it uses the ip of the updated server.

Enable remote connections to your SQL Server.

1. Open SQL Server Management Studio.
