How do I remove a certificate from Chrome?

In the top “Privacy and Security section, select “More”. Scroll down and select “Manage Certificates”. Select the certificate or certificates to delete, then click Remove. Click Yes in the Certificates warning box.

Once the certificate expires it is no longer valid. Therefore, once a certificate expires you can safely remove it from the CA database. Great. Now, where it is starting to get a bit odd is that if I want to then remove that certificate from my personal certificate store in chrome, I was expecting to be able to just open up the settings > htttps > manage certificates and then to be able to remove the certificate, however the certificate is not visible in the list of certs.

I believe the following is the minimum required to clear the certificates out of the cache in Chrome 81. From the 3-dot menu (upper, far right), click “Settings”. This opens a new tab. Just to reduce variables, I closed all other tabs. In the “Settings” tab, select “Privacy and security”.

If you want to, you can delete root CA certificates that are not needed from Google Chrome. Here is what I did on Google Chrome to delete the “VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority G5” certificate, which is actually needed to validate the login.yahoo.com certificate.
