How do I turn off the Fn key on my HP laptop?

The laptop must have advanced BIOS options for the “Fn” key to be disabled.

1. Turn on your computer.
2. Use the right arrow to move to the “System Configuration” menu.
3. Press the down arrow to navigate to the “Action Keys Mode” option.
4. Press “Enter” to switch the settings to disabled.

There is no way you can reverse or remap the function keys on your laptop. However, you can enable the action keys in BIOS to use the function keys without holding the Fn keys.

Restart your Windows computer and when it starts booting, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS settings. Press the Advanced tab and double-click on Function key behavior. Change the setting from Multimedia key to Function key.

Connect your keyboard to your computer,and power it up.

Locate the “function lock” key on your computer’s keyboard. Typically, this key is located in the lower-left corner of the keyboard, but depending on the model it may be in a different location. Press and hold the “Function Lock” key to enable the function keys on your computer.
