ZSNES is a free software Super Nintendo Entertainment System emulator written mostly in x86 assembly with official ports for Linux, DOS, Windows, and unofficial ports for Xbox and macOS….ZSNES.

To load a game:

1. Click on the Game menu, then Load.
2. If you placed your games in the same folder as ZSNES then you will see them now.
3. Double-click on a game to play it, or highlight it (using the arrow keys) and press Enter.

ZSNES 1.51 is available to all software users as a free download for Windows 10 PCs but also without a hitch on Windows 7 and Windows 8.

ZSNES is a Super Nintendo emulator programmed by zsKnight and _Demo_. On April 2, 2001 the ZSNES project was GPL’ed and its source released to the public. It currently runs on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and DOS.

Download the zSNES installer file from the link above. Save the downloaded file to your computer. Double-click on the downloaded zSNES installer file. Now, a smart screen might appear and ask for a confirmation. Click “Yes” to confirm.

The source code for Win and DOS releases can be found at sourceforge. There is no official support for running the DOS version in Windows NT/2000/XP (although it’s not impossible).
