The Wiimote is capable of transmitting huge amounts of data to the Wii (Nintendo just isn’t utilizing it’s capabilities thus far). By using the internal Bluetooth wireless link, you can connect your Wiimote to your PC (any OS), and use it with a wide range of applications already made for the Wiimote.

Yesterday I was able to successfully pair my Wiimote. I played a Wii game for a few hours, turned the computer off, then came back a few hours later, turned on the computer, opened dolphin 5, opened the Controller Settings window, held in the 1+2 buttons and a few seconds later it paired, and I was able to have a second gaming session.
