At the time of writing, Genshin Impact isn’t on Valve’s platform. Instead, the only place you can go to download the game is from publisher Mihoyo’s site, via a bespoke launcher for the game. So, if you’re keen to try out the free-to-play Breath of the Wild-like game, you may not want to hold out for a Steam launch.

How to download and install Steam on PC and Mac

1. Open a web browser and go to https://store.steampowered.com.
2. In the top-right corner of the screen, click the green button that says “Install Steam.”
3. After you click “Install Steam,” you’ll be taken to a new page, where you can download Steam.

How to install Steam: Visit https://store.steampowered.com/about Click the ‘Install Steam Now’ button and allow the Steam installer to download. Once downloaded, click ‘run/open’ and follow the instructions to install the Steam client onto your computer. When the Steam client starts, you will be prompted to log in or create a Steam account.

Steps Get a free Steam account. If you don’t already have one, go here: http://store.steampowered.com/ Install Steam. When you’re at the main website, look up and just a little to the right of the center of the page. Go to the Store Page. When in the Steam client, click on the “STORE” button, located at the top of the page.

Windows Open the Steam website. You can download Steam from steampowered.com. Click “Install Steam”. This button is green and is located at the top of the Steam page. Click “Install Steam Now”. This will download the EXE installer program. Run the installer and follow the prompts.

Go to steampowered.com in your browser. Click Install Steam. Click Install Steam Now. Click the show downloads button. Depending on the browser, this may open automatically when the file finishes downloading. Double-click on steam.dmg to launch the installer.

PC

1. First go to your browser and navigate towards the official Genshin Impact website.
2. Once there, you’ll see a button that leads to a download for Windows.
3. Install the game.
4. Start the game & finish up by running through all recent patches.

There may be tiny problems with the programs or processes on your operating system that stop your Steam client from opening. Or maybe the state or the cache of your computer are interfering with your client. You can try restarting your computer to get rid of these issues. Then check to see if you can open Steam.
