How to find your Garry’s Mod folder

1. Open Steam.
2. Right click on Garry’s Mod.
3. Select Properties.
4. Select Local Files.
5. Click Browse.

OS: Windows® 7/8/8.1/10.

For reference, the Workshop mods you subscribe to are downloaded inside this location: C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/workshop/content.

The server configuration file is located in the directory where GMod was installed, and can be accessed using a standard text editor, such as Notepad.

1. Click the Windows “Explorer” folder in the Windows taskbar to open Explorer.
2. Navigate to the directory where the “GMod” game is installed.

Open your favourite webbrowser and go to the Steam workshop page. You don’t need to be logged in to view the workshop. Next, browse to the mod you like to have, and copy the URL from the top bar. Select ‘No Extraction’ & ‘Direct URL’, paste the URL of the workshop item and download the mod.

If you can play Garry’s Mod, then the folder is somewhere. If you can’t play Garry’s Mod, then that means the folder could have been removed from your computer. Try reinstalling the game, it take about 15 minutes – and you should still have all your addons afterwards. Already tried that.

Go to your desktop and create a new folder by right-clicking any open area, pointing to “New” on the context menu, and then clicking the “Folder” command. The new folder icon will appear. GodMode. {ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

How to install: Copy the “garrysmod10” folder from 7z archive to “Steam/steamapps/sourcemods/” or whatever your main Steam library folder is and restart Steam. The mod should appear in your library. Unlike Garry’s mod 10 Classic by Danct12, multiplayer somehow works here.

Once you’ve properly renamed the folder, you’ll notice the folder icon change to a control panel icon. Double-click the icon to open the newly-created God Mode. The major categories are organized alphabetically and so are the more than 200 settings you’ll find within those categories.

Go to …/Steam/steamapps/common/GarrysMod/garrysmod . On Linux it should be inside ~/. steam by default, on Windows C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam (just C:/Program Files/Steam on 32-bit Windows), and on Mac ~/Library/Application Support/Steam . Delete the entire cache folder, or just the contents.
