Select Install Office. If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, you’ll also need to select Install Office > on the Installs page. In the Download and install window, select Other options.

More specifically, devices that run Windows 10 S, such as the Surface Laptop, are limited to apps from the Windows Store, which means you can’t simply download and install Microsoft Office from the web.

When you are unable to install the Microsoft 365 apps to a device, you must identify whether the issue is Intune-related or OS/Office-related. If you can see the two folders Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office 15 appearing in the Program Files directory of the device, you can confirm that Intune has initiated the deployment successfully.

If your Office product is one of the follow, you have a Microsoft 365 for home product. This can be an Microsoft 365 subscription, or a one-time purchase of Office or individual Office application. These products are usually associated with a personal Microsoft account.
